Welcome!

This will be blog entry #1.

First off, thanks for visiting. This will be your news source on any related musical projects that I am involved in. In addition, it's my way out getting the word out about my services. Those of you that already know me are aware that I've been drumming for a number of years now. I have been blessed enough to have played with some incredible musicians.

As far as my session work is concerned, I'd say that the biggest highlight was filling in on drums for Criteria in 2006, when we opened up for the legendary, Smoking Popes. As if that wasn't good enough, getting to play Bowery Ballroom was also a dream come true.

Fast forward to present, I am finishing up my last few shows with Ludlow Lions. They've been great but their plans to tour just aren't fitting well with my plans at the moment. We will be performing the Jezebel Music Showcase @ Public Assembly in Williamsburg on December 10th w/ Limbs (featuring my former right hand man, Tommy Orza- ex On the Might of Princes/Villa Vina). Hope you can all make it! If not, I'm sure there will be more before my final horrah with the Lions.

Over the past weekend, I got to work on my solo project with Michael Hirst (formerly of The Sounds of Kaleidoscope). He's got a new home studio in Williamsburg, Brooklyn which is great. If you or anyone you know are interested in good affordable recordings, let me know and I'll hook you up with him. In any case, I am tentatively calling my solo project 'Powerchild' for now. At times, I go between that or 'Earthmaster'. I may also simply go under the name 'Chris Enriquez'. How's that for creativity? In any case, it was the second solo track I recorded sans vocals. I'm still working on those. But so far it's been coming out great and I'm really excited to eventually finish it up, share with more people and get a group to back me up so I can play some shows.

In other exciting news, I also got a call from Mark Ryan (formerly of the hardcore band, Supertouch and currently of Foreign Islands) to collaborate on a project that is leaning more towards the hardcore/punk rock side of things. Other musicians that came in to jam were none other than Matt Sweeney of Chavez and Chris from Unsane. It was exciting to say in the least and I can't wait to hear Mark's plans to release it, what it will be called, etc.

Tomorrow, I turn 29. Another year before 30, scary right? No offense to you older folks, just kidding. In any case, to conclude this post I just want to let you all know that this is mainly hear for me to spread the word about my session work as a drummer. That being said, please feel free to assist if you happen to need a drummer for your project or know anyone else that needs one. I'm always ready to get out there and start hitting stuff. Hope you all had a good Thanksgiving break, take care!
